Dwumiesięczne stypendia w Budapeszcie

Dear colleagues,
Dear friends,

For better and deeper understanding of the interdependent contemporary histories of Central Europe, the International Visegrad Fund offers 10 annual research fellowships at the OSA Archivum at the Central European University, Budapest.

TWO-MONTH FELLOWSHIPS IN BUDAPEST
The fellowships will be given on a competitive basis to scholars/artists/journalists who wish to conduct research at OSA, and whose current research projects are relevant to the holdings and the given research priorities of the Fund and the Archivum. The fellowships in the value of EUR 2,000 are meant to provide access to the Archives for scholars, artists and journalists, cover travel costs and provide accommodation and modest subsistence in Budapest for a maximum research period of two months.

Fellows are free to work on project of their choice. In the academic year of 2010-2011, however, applicants with one of the following topics may enjoy advantage over other applicants:

(1) Representations and interpretations of World War II and/or subsequent wars in Europe;
(2) The complicated relationship between historiography/history writing and propaganda.

Successful candidates are expected to work on their projects, give a presentation at the Central European University within the framework of the International Visegrad Fund Fellow Lecture Series, and produce a final grant report (in text or in audio-visual format) in English, which will be posted on the OSA/IVF websites.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The following materials are required to be submitted to OSA:

(1) Application letter in English (specifying the expected period of stay and the preferred dates);
(2) Research description/plan in English (up to 800 words; should indicate relationship between the current research topic, the chosen collection in the OSA holdings and your research, the intended use of text based or audio-visual research results, etc.);
(3) Applicant's CV;
(4) Names of two referees with contact details.

There are no deadlines in the research fellowship grant program. Applications are considered as they are received by the Selection Committee, which normally meets four times a year. Final notification is usually within three months of the date of submission. For further information regarding the program please consult
http://www.osaarchivum.org/ or contact Ms. Katalin Gádoros (Gadoros@ceu.hu). We look forward to your research proposals.

Kind regards,

Dana Pekarikova
